Short version: post what's yours, and if someone posts what's yours without permission, tell us and we'll take it down.

What you own

You keep ownership of everything you put on Kadoink — your statuses, your photos and video, your recordings, your widgets, your messages. Posting it here doesn't transfer it to us.

What you do give us is permission to run the service: to store your content, re-encode it so it plays on other people's devices, and show it to the people you chose to show it to. The full wording is in the Terms of Use, which is the binding version if this summary and that document ever disagree.

What you shouldn't post

Only share things you made or have the right to share. In practice that means don't upload music, clips, images, or writing that belongs to someone else and pass it along as if it were yours to give away. The rules of the road cover this and the rest of what isn't allowed here.

Because Kadoink records calls and keeps chat transcripts, this applies to live content too — playing a copyrighted track down a call so it lands in a recording is the same problem as uploading the file.

If your work is here without permission

Report it and we'll look at it. Either use report abuse, which goes straight to the team, or contact us if you'd rather write it up in full.

To act on a copyright claim we need enough to identify both the work and the copy, so please include:

• Your signature (an electronic one is fine) as the copyright owner, or as someone authorised to act for them.
• What the copyrighted work is. If several works are covered by one report, a list is fine.
• Where the copy is on Kadoink — a link, a tag, or the profile it's on, specific enough that we can actually find it.
• How to reach you: email, and a mailing address or phone number.
• A statement that you believe in good faith the use wasn't authorised by the owner, its agent, or the law.
• A statement that the information in your report is accurate, and — under penalty of perjury — that you're the owner or authorised to act for them.

An incomplete report isn't wasted; it just may take us longer, and we may come back to you for the missing pieces.

If we remove something of yours

We'll tell you what was removed and why. If you believe it was a mistake — you had the rights, or the material wasn't what the report claimed — reply and say so, with enough detail for us to check. We'd rather restore something we shouldn't have taken down than leave it down.

Repeat infringement

Accounts that repeatedly post other people's work without permission get terminated. That's the same power described in the Terms of Use, applied to copyright specifically.

Our own marks

The Kadoink name, wordmark, and logo are ours. You're welcome to use them to refer to Kadoink — in a write-up, a link, an integration — and the approved files live in the media kit. What you can't do is use them in a way that suggests we built, endorsed, or are affiliated with something we aren't.
